Side-by-side hiring worksheet
Attorney Comparison Worksheet
Record the same practical details for up to three attorneys and create a printable comparison.
The worksheet helps you compare information you collect during research or consultations. It does not rank attorneys, assess competence, or decide which candidate is right for you.
Ask each candidate for the same information
- Verify license status independently through an official state source.
- Ask who will perform the work—not only who conducts the consultation.
- Separate attorney fees from filing, expert, travel, and other costs.
- Request a written engagement agreement before representation begins.
User-entered comparison
Attorney comparison
The worksheet organizes only the information you entered. A checked item confirms that you recorded a verification step—not that 101Attorney.com verified, endorsed, or rated an attorney.
How to interpret the comparison
Look first for missing information rather than trying to produce a numerical winner. A candidate may have a lower hourly rate but use more staff time or require a larger retainer. Another may have closely related experience but limited availability. Ask for clarification when fee scope, staffing, communication, conflicts, or next steps remain uncertain.
License status is a basic checkpoint, not a complete evaluation. Review the official record available in the relevant jurisdiction and ask the licensing authority how to interpret status or disciplinary information. Also read the proposed engagement agreement carefully and keep a copy.
